Let's talk soup.....

I love soup. I love eating it and I love to serve it. Soup brings back many fond memories of my childhood. My grandmother could make soup out of anything. No, not Nunnie, she made the best soup beans and ham, but Nona had a way of tossing things in a pot and it came out soup! And my Aunt Emma made this creamy ABC soup that, to this day, thinking of it makes my mouth water. Yummy!
All of our soups are homemade, and all of them are Chefy's recipes. Our most requested is Wedding soup. So much so we had to make it a permanent menu item because people would ask for it everyday. Customers have said it's "the best wedding soup ever", "you can taste the love in every bowl" and just simply "Wow". Not bad for a chef that isn't even Italian....LOL.
Other favorites include Beef Barley, Pasta Fagiole, Clam Chowder and Chili.
I've included some pictures for you, but needless to say, the pictures don't begin to do justice to the finished products.

Comfort Food

I apologize for not posting sooner, but my computer crashed and by the time I borrowed one and figured out how to upload my pictures to another computer...well time just got away from me. Aww, technology gotta love it. So about that post.
I don't know about you, but when the snow starts falling and the temperatures start dropping my mind wanders off to all things warm. Sun, sand and surf would be wonderful this time of year, but for many of us, jetting out of Western Pennsylvania right now is just not an option. Not that there is anything wrong with being stuck here,we just need to find something else to keep us warm. Which brings me to .....Comfort Food.
I know, I know, you're all probably saying you "ate too much over the holidays", and "what about my diet and my New Year's resolutions", and "I want to eat healthy this year" well I say "everything is fine in moderation"! And to me, nothing says comfort food quite like pasta, mashed potatoes and gravy.
One of the questions that people ask is "are those real mashed potatoes"? My response is usually "are there any other kind"? One customer even describes them as "a little bowl of love"!
Whether it brings back fond memories or helps transport us back to a warm cozy kitchen from childhood, comfort food makes us feel good. So for whatever reason and no matter what your selection I hope you find comfort in every... little... bite.
To tantalize your tastebuds I have some pictures of what some of our customers have been ordering to help them stay warm on these cold winter days.
